Viola and Howard Hackerd.

Children of Roscoe and Rosetta (Johnston) Hackerd, photo circa 1916.

Viola was born 18 December 1909 and died 27 June 1997. She was the oldest child of Roscoe and Rosetta and nevered married. She worked as a registered nurse her whole life.

Howard was born 12 February 1912 and died 23 April 1999. He worked 18 years for the Nickel Plate Railroad as a car repairman in Frankfort, Indiana. He then moved to Illinois where he worked for General Motors untill he retired.

The woman in middle of picture is Rosetta Hackerd (holding Byford), the young boy in front left is Howard Hackerd, the 4th young girl in front is Viola Hackerd and the two gentlemen at the far right are Roscoe Hackerd and Will Branigin (in hat). There are no other Hackerds so I think this is maybe Rosetta side of family. Her maiden name was Johnston and her mothers maiden name was Branigin. So, this may be the Johnston or Branigin Family.

The back of photo reads Christmas 1916.
